Coriolis Storm approaching the Deep Desert

What is the Coriolis Storm?

The Coriolis Storm is a weekly event in Dune: Awakening that completely resets the Deep Desert, the game's endgame PvP map. Think of it as nature's way of wiping the slate clean and giving everyone a fresh start in the most dangerous region of Arrakis.

This isn't just a cosmetic change the storm fundamentally alters the landscape, destroys everything players have built, and forces everyone to re-explore and re-establish their presence in the Deep Desert.

When Does the Coriolis Storm Happen?

The Coriolis Storm occurs every Tuesday during the daily server restart time. The exact time will vary depending on your timezone, but you'll receive regular notifications on your screen as the storm approaches.

Don't stress about missing it the game gives you plenty of advance warning with multiple notifications, so you'll have time to prepare and evacuate your assets from the Deep Desert.

What Happens During the Storm?

When the Coriolis Storm arrives, it brings total devastation to the Deep Desert:

  • Total Destruction: All bases, structures, and vehicles left in the Deep Desert are completely wiped out. Nothing survives the storm.
  • Instant Death: Any players still in the Deep Desert when the storm arrives will die instantly, losing all their gear and equipment.
  • Resource Reshuffle: The storm rearranges resource nodes and points of interest throughout the Deep Desert and even slightly alters some locations in the Hagga Basin.
  • Fog of War Reset: After the wipe, the entire Deep Desert must be re-surveyed. All points of interest and resources are hidden until rediscovered, making the map completely fresh every week.

Preparing for the Storm

Preparation is key to surviving the Coriolis Storm without losing valuable resources. Here's what you need to do:

  • Evacuate Everything: Dismantle your base to recover resources and fly all of your vehicles back to the Hagga Basin before the storm hits.
  • The Big Haul: Transport all valuable resources, equipment, and materials back to the safety of the Hagga Basin. Don't leave anything behind that you can't afford to lose.
  • Stock Up on Survey Probes: Prepare at least 81 survey probes to scout the newly wiped map effectively after the storm passes.

The key is to start your evacuation process early. Don't wait until the last minute give yourself plenty of time to safely extract everything valuable from the Deep Desert.

After the Storm: Exploring the New Deep Desert

Once the Coriolis Storm has passed, it's time to venture back into the Deep Desert and begin the exploration process all over again. The landscape will be completely different, with new opportunities and challenges waiting to be discovered.

Head out into the Deep Desert with your survey probes and begin mapping the new terrain. You'll uncover:

  • New wrecks with valuable salvage
  • Fresh control points for strategic positioning
  • Relocated spice fields for harvesting
  • New eco-labs and research facilities

This weekly reset keeps the endgame fresh and ensures that no single group can maintain permanent dominance over the Deep Desert's most valuable locations.
